You see all the guru’s throwing all their big numbers at you. And sure it really makes you want it bad. Unfortunately it’s never as easy as they make it seem… but it’s totally worth it.
Finding a great niche… or hole in a market… is the first thing you have to worry about. And it doesn’t matter if you are that interested in it just yet. You have to make sure that there are people who pretty consistently buy products in that niche and then you have to make sure there are people selling things too. Otherwise it won’t work.
I’m going to cut right to the chase and show you some of the best ways to locate a great niche. The best thing about this method is most Internet marketers won’t do it. Go shopping and look for different or interesting products. Things like metal detectors or make it’s a certain kind of dress that is selling like crazy. But think about how a new approach to those products.
Think small segments of big markets. Another thing you can do is go to a popular bookstore and check out all the magazines. But even better is ask the store which magazines sell the best then check those out.
I’ll let you in on a secret of mine. This store is one of my favorite places to find niches that are small but highly in demand. The store is Bass Pro Shop. Go find the nearest store to you and make sure you bring a pad and pen.
After doing all of that research you probably have hundreds of possible niches that would work. In order to figure out if they work you must begin the next part of the research phase. You need to see if there are any affiliate programs that sell products or information products within those niches. Then you need to begin looking at keywords and finding out which ones you can use to make your mark.
But don’t forget to check out the competition. Just because there may not be a lot of competition does not mean that its an easy market to enter. So again you want to find keywords that get searched a lot per day and then make sure the competition is not a lot… but also not hard to beat.
Remember that you always want to be thinking of more and more niches… eventually you will have to little empire that you then grow in any direction you want.
